David Eells - 09/13/2015 Update - 9/27/15: Some think the Shemitah didn't amount to much but they are wrong; judgment has been falling in this Shemitah year, just as it has during the Shemitah years in the previous 100+ years, as is clearly seen in these articles: 100-Year Shemitah Cycle and The Shemitah that Was and the Shaking to Come At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.... A Shemitah (release) on September 13/14, 2015: This is a release or forgiveness of the debt of sin you think men owe you. In the next few days, we may see an economic judgment against America and all who do not forgive others their debt of sin against them. Jesus showed that the Shemitah represents coming judgment on those who do not forgive others from the heart. It also represents release from bondage and torment and debt of sin to those who forgive others. {Lev.25:1} And Jehovah spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying, {2} Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto Jehovah. {3} Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruits thereof; {4} but in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of solemn rest (The sabbatical year of rest from our own works ends with the Shemitah on September 13/14, 2015, which is the day of release or Shemitah.) for the land, a sabbath unto Jehovah: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard. {5} That which groweth of itself of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, and the grapes of thy undressed vine thou shalt not gather: it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land. {6} And the sabbath of the land shall be for food for you; for thee, and for thy servant and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant and for thy stranger, who sojourn with thee. {7} And for thy cattle, and for the beasts that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be for food. {8} And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and there shall be unto thee the days of seven sabbaths of years, even forty and nine years. Leading up to the Shemitah on September 13/14, when we must release those in debt or bondage to us. Holding others in bondage to unforgiveness, as Matthew 18 says. For those who don't release, this represents a coming or present day of judgment.) {9} Then shalt thou send abroad the loud trumpet on the tenth day (10 days of Awe: days of repentance. If there is repentance during these days, the sentence of the Shemitah is overturned in the day of atonement.) of the seventh month; in the day of atonement (September 24/25, 2015: this represents either judgment or blessing, depending on whether the individual is under the blood or not. They are not under the blood and forgiven, if they do not forgive, as Jesus said.) shall ye send abroad the trumpet throughout all your land. {10} And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession (Joel 2 prophesies the former and latter rain outpouring of the Spirit will restore all that has been stolen from us over the years), and ye shall return every man unto his family. (Some who have been taken into captivity and away from their true family will return.) {11} A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap (it is the Sabbath year to cease from our works) that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of the undressed vines. {12} For it is a jubilee (September 24/25, 2015); it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field. {13} In this year of jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession. Bondservants were set free to go to their inherited land. Their debts are forgiven and that land returns to these original owners. As a type, God's people coming out of the nations or world and returning to our original land of promise, spiritual Israel. Many will go to their prepared places in the wilderness tribulation at this time. It is a time of shaking in the world and a reversal of fortunes for the righteous. Micah 4 and Haggai 2 are types of this. This is also a release, like the Shemitah, but on a much larger scale. Some have called it a Super Shemitah. For those who don't release and forgive, the Beast has a plan on this day. Perhaps you have seen pointed out that their 9,23 is shown in so many of their movies and videos, which they believe is a sign of their destruction of Christianity, but the gates of Hell will not prevail against the true "called-out ones" or Church. Pharaoh and his armies had the same plan at the Red Sea ... but GOD. (Note: the new moon was not sighted until a day later than expected, so the actual date is September 24/25, 2015.) Let's get back to the Shemitah and what it represents: {Deu.15:1} At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release (a Shemitah). {2} And this is the manner of the release: every creditor shall release that which he hath lent unto his neighbor; he shall not exact it of his neighbor and his brother; because Jehovah's release hath been proclaimed. {3} Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it (because they are not forgiven by God): but whatsoever of thine is with thy brother thy hand shall release (a Shemitah). {4} Howbeit there shall be no poor with thee; (for Jehovah will surely bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it;) {5} if only thou diligently hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all this commandment which I command thee this day. The command was to release them from their debt to us. Jesus said, "Release and you shall be released". {6} Bless and you will be blessed. For Jehovah thy God will bless thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over thee. As we will see,Jesus said forgive or release others from their debt of sin. {Luk.6:37} And judge not, and ye shall not be judged: and condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: release, and ye shall be released... Notice below that Jesus using the terms "release" (the meaning of Shemitah) and "debt" (meaning the debt of sins against us) is telling us this has to do with us forgiving others' sins against us or what we perceive as sins against us. Those who do not forgive will not be forgiven but will go into bondage and under the tormenting demons. {Mat.18:21} Then came Peter and said to him, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times? {22} Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven. {23} Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, who would make a reckoning with his servants. {24} And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, that owed him ten thousand talents. {25} But forasmuch as he had not wherewith to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. {26} The servant therefore fell down and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. {27} And the lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released (the meaning of Shemitah) him, and forgave him the debt. (Notice, release in this parable means to forgive others their debt, representing their debt of sin, according to Jesus, in this text.) Notice, the release is to those in bondage to their debt of sin: prisoners under tormentors because of their debt of sin. The release is to those who forgive but it is not for those who do not forgive. {Mat.6:14} For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. {15} But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Back to our Matthew 18 text: {18:28} But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow-servants, who owed him a hundred shillings: and he laid hold on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay what thou owest. {29} So his fellow-servant fell down and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee. {30} And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay that which was due. {31} So when his fellow-servants saw what was done, they were exceeding sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. {32} Then his lord called him unto him, and saith to him, Thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou besoughtest me: {33} shouldest not thou also have had mercy on thy fellow-servant, even as I had mercy on thee? {34} And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due. {35} So shall also my heavenly Father do unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts. {Mar.11:25} And whensoever ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any one; that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. The best thing, of course, is to not have anything against anyone in the first place. Even someone who needs correction should have our sympathy. This is not a game. We work for the Kingdom of God and the eternal life of souls that will all end up somewhere. We should desire that everyone makes it but we know it is not going to happen. I always pray that if someone stumbles out of the way and loses their soul that I would have done all that I felt the Lord to do to turn them around. That I would have no guilt that I didn't have enough mercy and grace to be used to save someone. According to {1Co.13:4} Love suffers long and is kind ... {5} It is not provoked, taketh not account of evil.... When a person takes account of evil in another, they begin to be against the person and in unforgiveness, judgment, criticism, etc., which is destructive to their own life. They then begin to wrestle with the flesh and blood of that person, instead of the principalities and powers that are arrayed against them. We must remember to obey the commands of scripture in dealing with them that, though we see their evil, we are not holding it in an account against them, to our own detriment. If we have love for the person, we must remember faith for them, as we have faith for ourselves. {2Co.5:14} For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died (Just as Jesus died for us and them to be saved, we recon ourselves to be dead to sin and so are they.); {15} and he died for all, that they that live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto him who for their sakes died and rose again. He died to save them; therefore, we desire to be His instruments to this end. Self-righteousness would have us to become angry, critical and judgmental, instead of offering to them the faith which would lift them out of Satan's grip. {16} Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more. Knowing them after the flesh is to know them with carnal eyes and ears and not by faith in what the Lord gave to them). {17} Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new. He looks in the flesh to be a failure but faith sees him as saved and a new creature because his sins were taken away by Jesus who gave to him His own life. {18} But all things are of God, who reconciled (Greek: "exchanged") us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation.... He took our sins and gave us His life and now neither us nor them live anymore but Christ lives in us. If we get this faith into them, they too will live unto God. We must help them to behold Jesus in the mirror so they will be changed into His image (2 Corinthians 3:18). Many have the false ministry of just making them see their natural face of sinfulness in the mirror but James 1:23 says they will just be a hearer of the Word and not a doer because there is no faith in that. {2Co.3:18} But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit. This good news has the power to save. {Rom.1:16} For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.... But many lose sight of this and begin to sink. {Jas1:23} For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror.... So we must remind them to get their eyes on "Christ in you, the hope of Glory", so they may bear fruit. {Gal.2:20} I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me. Let's go back to our 2 Corinthians 5 text: {2Co.5:19} to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling (meaning, exchanging their life for His) the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses (not taking account of their evil), and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation. We do this by turning them away from themselves to see Jesus in the mirror. This is the Gospel that saves. {20} We are ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beseech you on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God. {21} Him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
