Gideon - 04/20/2009 Hey, brothers and sisters in Christ. On April 20, 2009 I went outside to go jogging. Before I left I saw a storm was building up and I thought to myself, "If I run fast I should beat the rain and get back home before getting soaked". Well, about a quarter of the way through my run itstarted to drizzle and then began to increase. As this happened I thought to myself, "Since I'm exercising physically, why not work out my faith a little andbelieve God to make the rain stop?" SoI looked up at the sky asIjogged and commanded the rain to stop until I got back homein my house, but it didn'tstop right away. The rain lasted forabout 45 seconds but this is what happened within that 45 seconds: I kept believing and quoted the verse in James 5:17: Elijah was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months. Then I said, "The Lord can hold the rain for me until I get home". Ant then I said, "Rain, you will stop in Jesus' name", and I began to quickly praise God for it being already done. After this the rain stopped and I clapped my hands and gave God praise. It was not over yet; as I continuedrunning, a thought came, saying, "You'd better run faster so that you don't get soaked because it's going to start raining again". Then I said, "God already stopped the rain. I don't have to run faster. I'm going to keep my same pace and enter in the rest of Christ and not try to deliver myself from the rain because God already did it". So I kept my same pace and praised God all the way home and when I got into the house I told my wife the testimony and said, "Watch, it will rain in a few minutes"; and, behold, a few minutes after stating that it began to pour. There is no way that this was a mere coincidence. God in His mercy allowed me to see the authority we have through Christ. Praise God! All glory be to Him, for we can receive nothing, except it be given from the Father. Hallelujah!
