Doris - 01/24/2007 How thankful I am to have David and UBM teaching in our home. Sovereign God has been truly a blessing for over a year for us. Last Sunday, as I listened to our Bible study, I heard many things that strengthened and edified me. Specifically, our need to be specific in making our requests known to our Father. I have prayed many a time, many things on top of many things. Knowing that He knows our needs before we do always gave me comfort but having not because I asked not kept me pleading. :-) I appreciated your prayer Dave, dear brother, that we be filled with His Holy Spirit because I needed more. I did meditate onMat 9:29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it done unto you. Well, last weekend at my house I received 12" of snow. I live in the country with my home quite back from the highway. My daughter had a court hearing on Monday at another town 50 miles away and I needed to take her in my car (AWD, ha). I got to the culvert before the highway on my property without much problem, took the little dip and as I tried to get onto the highway, my car stopped; stuck, high-centered on the huge snow mound left by the highway department's snow plows. I tried, back and forth, forward and reverse, (not knowing that I was high-centered) got out saw my dilemma and cried out to the Lord for "help". I have a AAA membership but I knew I did not have time to wait for them fearing my daughter would not make it to her court hearing. Besides, God is more dependable! Within minutesa lady stopped and asked if she could help me. I questioned, "What can you do?" She said that she could pull me out with a chain! Glory! She looked and did not have one but said she would drive to her house, pointing over the snow covered horizon a few miles away. When she returned shetold me that she had done this many times because she worked at a feed yard (cattle). Soon two men in suits stopped and giggled at me and watched as this blessed saint laid on the snowy highway and hooked the chain onto my frame. One man then offered to drive my car as the lady pulled with her vehicle. Free at last I hugged her so many times, praising God and shaking the men's hands and just tearing up incredibly. My daughter and I arrived safely to the court hearing. She met with the folks that had requested her presence and we started back home. Driving home I told my daughter that I was really concerned about driving back into the house because the snow plows were out in force again (God bless them). I said, "Father, in the name of Jesus, please send angels with tractors to clear my driveway and culvert". My daughter said, "In Jesus' name, Amen". We went to my house and used a shovel to just clear a section so I could get in and out and we tried it; outworked fine so we drove down the highway to turn around and try in. We turned around, headed back to my house and who do we see? The snow plow guy driving toward us. He had once again piled snow at my property line. (That made me think of your tomatoes, David!) Undaunted we went on in; it was slushy so we were okay. I took her home and went straight back home because I knew that once the temperature reached freezing again my vehicle might be stuck again.. The next morning my dogs were barking and I heard some machinery. Thinking it was the snow plows, I looked outside to see how much snow was now piled up. But, to God be the glory, there was a tractor that had cleaned my drive, my culvert, everything! Now, that was one specific prayer we prayed and He is faithful! Praise the Lord! The tractor had just finished as I looked outside and he drove off. I have no idea where it went and never got to thank anyone but our Lord. I am blessed, awed, and telling all kinds of people. How true is His word! How wonderful is our Father! Thanks for letting me ramble, I am just so excited! (Rom 16:26-27) but now is manifested, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, is made known unto all the nations unto obedience of faith: to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory for ever. Amen.
