James and Joye Austin - 09/03/2008 I prayed and the Lord answered this morning at 4:04 AM, September 3, 2008. My wife and I have two children, both delivered by c-section. Our son, Kristopher, was born first in January of 2004. My wife wanted to have a natural childbirth but Kristopher was delivered via an emergency c-section. In September of 2006, my daughter was born via c-section as well because the doctors didn't want to perform a natural childbirth. Normally, doctors don't risk a natural childbirth after a previous c-section. My wife, who isn't a Christian yet, really wanted to have a natural childbirth. But the doctors told her that was not possible. I knew my wife wanted a natural childbirth and so did I. I prayed and asked God to let my wife have a natural childbirth without any complications. Between 10:00 and 11:00 PM, my wife began having contractions, so she called me at work and I came home. The Doctor told her that if the contractions grew more intense to come into the hospital, but it was not necessary at that time. I got home around midnight and she was having some mild contractions. The spacing of the contractions were such that we knew that delivery was not imminent so we decided to go to bed. When we laid down, the contractions became intense and were about five minutes apart. We decided to get up and I called my father-in-law to come over and stay with our other two children. My father-in-law arrived around 2:00 AM. My wife and I left for the hospital and during the ride, the thought of the child being delivered via c-section kept coming to my mind. I began a spiritual warfare and rebuked the idea of a c-section and claimed that my wife would deliver our child via a natural childbirth. When we arrived at the hospital, the staff took my wife to the birthing room and readied the room for a c-section. There was a couple ahead of us delivering twins via c-section. As this was the only room available, we had to wait. At this point, the staff attempted to get an IV started in my wife but with no success. Then it was determined that my wife was fully dilated and the baby was presenting. The doctors tried to prep the room as fast as possible but to no avail. The baby was on her way and the staff had no choice but to set up for a natural childbirth. The baby was presenting so fast that the staff was unable to give my wife any drugs. During this entire time, I was praying to God and saying, "I believe this is going to be a natural childbirth". After 45 minutes of pushing, Rose was born and to God's glory it was a natural childbirth and without any pain medication. Also, there was not injury to my wife, Joye. I was too happy. I knew God had answered my prayer. I was in tears. Praise God
