Linda Gray - 03/17/2008 Linda L. Gray's Prayer Request: I'm currently a caregiver for both my parents. The Lord has given me great grace to deal with this task, as it has been quite trying, to say the least. I have a prayer request for the Prayer Ministers. My father, James Gray, 85 years old, has numerous medical problems and is now on oxygen 24/7. Also, he is on many medications which probably contribute to most of his situations. The problem and request for prayer is a spiritual one. I don't know how much time he has left. As I told you before, he has a Baptist type of belief system, although he never said anything negative to my mother or I when we decided to leave the system of my youth (Church of God) and attend a Pentecostal church. My dad has a deep-rooted hurt which we believe happened to him when he was young (perhaps sexual). As a result of that hurt, a deep-seated root of bitterness developed. Whatever happened to him back then has affected his entire life. We want him to let it go and forgive so that he'll be ready to meet The Lord. Yesterday, Feb. 25th, at approximately 1:00 a.m., my dad started yelling and moaning loudly which woke up my sister and mother. My sister ran down the steps and starting shaking Dad to awaken him. It took a while to make him wake up. When he came to his senses, he told my sister that a dark man was at the doorway of the house. This has to be demonic in nature as this is the second incident. The first happened on May 17, 2006. In that instance, Dad saw a man carrying chains in the house. I believe that if dad doesn't let go of his hurts and forgive, he's not going to make it. My request is that we ask The Lord to permit "whatever it takes" to bring him to his senses and let the stuff go before it's too late. If it takes letting him go to hell like Mary K. Baxter in order to shake him up, so be it. Bill Rowe's answer to Linda and the prayer sent out to the Prayer Ministers: It would be a good thing to have someone minister to your father of how necessary it is for him to forgive. Unforgiveness and bitterness manifests as disease. There are physical consequences when we are not in agreement with the word Spiritually. It is called the curse and our Father uses the curse to bring us back into alignment with the Word. To be forgiven, he must first forgive. That includes any self-rejection, self-bitterness, self-hatred. I John 9:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Colossians 1:27 to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: When we confess our sins, repent, forgive those who we need to forgive. Mark 11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your trespasses. We are putting to death that old man, the flesh, and the Spirit of Jesus Christ then rises up in us. The old man is dead and forgotten. II Corinthians 5:17 Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new. When our Father forgets the sins and behavior of the old man, then we are considered righteous by faith as Jesus Christ grows in us. We are released from condemnation for Satan has nothing to use against us. There is nothing we can do to erase our past sinful nature for it was already done for us at the cross. And by faith, our Father not only forgives us of our sins, but our sins are forgotten, and by faith, we are healed of all our diseases. Father, we thank You for having mercy on James. We thank You for giving him the word of knowledge of the Gospel, and the wisdom to act on the Word by faith. We thank You, Father, for granting James repentance and a forgiving heart. Bring to his memory those whom he needs to forgive, and the word of knowledge that any bitterness or self-hatred must go and was nailed on the cross. We thank You, Father, for comforting James and Linda in the knowledge that through Jesus Christ all things are possible, for greater is He that is in us than he who is in the world. We believe it was already done and we command that which is not as though it is (Hebrews 11:1). We thank You, Father, for blessing James by granting him repentance, releasing him of all past bitterness, unforgiveness and anything else that is preventing him from entering into the kingdom. We thank You, Father, for binging James to the knowledge of the truth that Jesus Christ died not only for our sins but also for our infirmities and he can be released from the physical curse as well: I Peter 2:24 who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope. Amen. Linda's update on her father's healing: I wanted to update you on my father's health. The day after I emailed Robin (2/26/08), the nurse came to see Dad. She looked rather puzzled as she was talking with me in the kitchen. She had just taken Dad's pulsox (blood oxygen level) and it was 97%. Before prayer my dad's pulsox was in the 50s and 60s. She told me that Dad's vital signs haven't been this good for a long time. The nurses have been coming since 2004. I smiled and told her that I knew why and explained the request for prayer. The following week on March 4th, Dad's pulsox was 99% and on March 12th it was 96%. His health has improved so much that he is being discharged from the nursing service next week. I received the UBM book and DVDs on 3/4/08. I gave the large print book to my mother to begin reading. Also, I picked out some DVDs for both of them to watch and listen to. They must start hearing the Word rather than Fox News all day long! (Note from David: When elderly parents are under our care we have a lot of authority through faith for them with God. Like God accepted the Centurion's faith for his servant, the Syrophoenecian woman's for her daughter, Jairius' for his daughter, Peter's mother, etc., God will accept your faith for them just as a parent for their child. You can take authority over their demons and sickness since they are under your care. When my mother was under my care I cast five demons out of her; then I was able to reason with her. I asked The Lord if had authority for her since she was not saved. My daughter had a dream that night that Mom's house was in the middle of our house, except her house was three stories tall, going through our roof. There were five chickens walking out of the second floor window on a plank that led to the street. We knew we had authority.)
