Healed of Nasal Infection - UBM [David Eells]

After reading chapter 18, Assurance Versus Insurance, of Sovereign God For Us and Through Us, I felt inspired and encouraged to drop our health insurance. My wife had a pituitary gland tumor surgery 15 years ago and the doctors had put bandages and wadding in after the surgery to stop the bleeding. When they took these waddings out they forgot one and five months after her surgery her body naturally rejected it when she sneezed it out. After this, she had really bad nasal infections and allergies so severe she took antibiotics for months on end and was always using tissues -- I mean lots of tissues every day. I was not able to understand her when she talked because her nose was so stuffed up all day long.

When she moved to this country from Panama, I had health insurance at my job and we went to the doctor, who ordered a CT of her sinuses and recommended surgery. About a week before the surgery, I was reading the study Assurance Versus Insurance and felt compelled to tell my wife about it and ask her if she wanted to try to have faith to not do the surgery. She gladly chose to do this instead of another surgery that could lead to disastrous complications. This was about two weeks ago and since then she has felt great and she can sleep all night long and breathe through her nose the whole time.

What is ironic about this is I had dropped our health insurance late in 2008 but, due to my wife's severe medical condition and my lack of faith, I picked it back up again in January of this year. Since this healing of my wife, we have chosen to drop our health insurance, which is about $288 per month, and trust God.
