by John When I was graduating high school, my bladder decided to take a vacation ... forever. What a surprise. Well, after three days, the pain was getting a little unbearable and I was taken to a doctor, who sent me to another doctor who cut me open to look. Long story shortened, I survived with two belly buttons and a smile on my stomach. But a couple of years ago it came back. Right or wrong I decided that if I had faith in Jesus he would heal me or I would die. I was supposed to go to a men's retreat with three other men. I had to make the choice: doctors or God. Half way to the men's retreat I told the people I was going with that whether I Live or Die this weekend was in the hands of God. They all prayed with me and we arrived at the retreat. Well the first night was just a little interesting. One of the guys kept talking about gall stones, on and on and on while we were unpacking. I tried to explain to him that it was a little different. It had to do with a valve that did not grow with me and finally at age 18 closed off. We all went into the first meeting of the retreat. They started praise and worship and to me it was awful. It was loud rock and roll from a well know rock band and I just could not stay, but I thought well maybe the next one would not be so bad so I stayed and the next song was worse to the point of hurting my ears. I decided I would be polite and wait until they were finished with that song then leave. They finished and I turned to walk out and before I could take a step they started playing Agnes Dei (my favorite at that time). Almost brought me to my knees. I stayed. After that song the speaker stopped the worship and announced that there was someone here that had problems with gall stones and if there were any with this problem to come forward for prayer. Well I knew I did not have gall stones so I stayed where I was. Quit a few people went up and they were prayed for and when they were finished the speaker said there was still someone that had some kind of bladder problem or infection and that he should come up for prayer. Forgive me but my feet did not move. So then he called the pastors down for prayer and he went down the line praying for each one and when he was finished he was standing alone right in front of where I was. Well I decided why not so I stepped over to him and said that he might have been talking about me. He said, "Why didn't you come forward?" I said I did not have gall stones. Well he prayed for me and I went back to my seat. I don't remember when my problem disappeared but I believe it was that very night. That very night two years ago. I needed faith that when I pray for someone to be healed, it would be done. How much faith did I have in their healing if I went to the doctor for my healing? Now I have been to the Master and I have seen his work. Trusting in what you can not see while the body is racked with pain is sometimes hard; I know, I have been there. I have at times not endured the pain. May the Lord forgive me of the words that came out of my mouth.
