400 Years Brings Man-child / Tribulation
Walter Horbatch - 06/08/2007
(David's notes in red)
[ audio ]
I was watching Pat Robertson recently as he detailed the 40th anniversary of The Six Day War, when Israel recaptured Jerusalem on June 7, 1967. Pat thought it was extremely significant that 2007 is also the 400th year of America's founding and noted that 400 years also represents 10 biblical generations. After he said this, the following thoughts immediately impressed me that 2007 may still yet indeed be a very prophetic year:
- It was 10 generations from Adam to Noah when the flood came - "But as in the days of Noah, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be". (Mt 24:37)
- In Gen 15:13-14, The LORD told Abram, "Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land [that is] not theirs (our kingdom is not of this world -Jn.18:36), and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; (American Christians have been dominated by the flesh and have been wicked during this 400 years) and also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge (tribulation): and afterward shall they come out with great substance". (The gold and silver of the fruit of Christ. - See also Acts 7:7.)
I was then strongly reminded of an apocryphal dream given to the prophet Ezra describing:
- A people who have not performed His works;
- A Bride coming forth;
- A revealing of Jesus along with those that be with Him;
- Christ's death along with all men that have life;
- All of this was and will be revealed after a period of 400 years;
- A 7 day judgment;
- And no man remaining:
(2 Esdras 7:19-35) "And he said unto me. There is no judge above God, and none that hath understanding above the Highest. For there be many that perish in this life, because they despise the law of God that is set before them. For God hath given strait commandment to such as came, what they should do to live, even as they came, and what they should observe to avoid punishment. Nevertheless they were not obedient unto him; but spake against him, and imagined vain things; And deceived themselves by their wicked deeds; and said of the most High, that he is not; and knew not his ways: But his law have they despised, and denied his covenants; in his statutes have they not been faithful, and have not performed his works. And therefore, Esdras, for the empty are empty things, and for the full are the full things. Behold, the time shall come, that these tokens which I have told thee shall come to pass, and the bride shall appear, and she coming forth shall be seen, that now is withdrawn from the earth. And whosoever is delivered from the foresaid evils shall see my wonders. For my son Jesus shall be revealed with those that be with him, and they that remain shall rejoice within four hundred years. (America's 400 years were up in the spring of 2007. [See Landing at Jamestown below.]) After these years shall my son Christ die, and all men that have life. (After Malachi was written, the 400 so-called "silent years" came before the man-child, Jesus, and His disciples gave up their lives. And now we have 400 years of America before the man-child comes and once again we must lose our life [Greek: pseuche, i.e. soul, self] to gain our life.) And the world shall be turned into the old silence seven days (tribulation) , like as in the former judgments so that no man shall remain. And after seven days the world, that yet awaketh not, shall be raised up (after seven days tribulation the saints will be raised and after seven prophetic 1000 year days the rest of the world shall be raised), and that shall die that is corrupt. And the earth shall restore those that are asleep in her, and so shall the dust those that dwell in silence, and the secret places shall deliver those souls that were committed unto them. And the most High shall appear upon the seat of judgment (the Bema seat after the seven years tribulation and the Great White Throne after the seven prophetic days), and misery shall pass away, and the long suffering shall have an end: But judgment only shall remain, truth shall stand, and faith shall wax strong: And the work shall follow, and the reward shall be showed, and the good deeds shall be of force, and wicked deeds shall bear no rule".
(This is only one of a number of translations of Ezra's dream recorded in 2 Esdras, a book of the Apocrypha. Like other books, Esdras is without perfect numeric pattern and never should be equated with the canon of Scripture. In the context of a dream, this book may very well have some true prophetic words for us at this time.)
1607 to 2007 - Landing At Jamestown in
1607
"The colonists in their ships were driven between the Virginia Capes by a violent storm in April 1607. They named the Capes 'Henry' and 'Charles', after the sons of their king. A party landed at Cape Henry on April 26th, but were driven back to their boat by the Indians; as they approached the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay the storm had spent its force, and they called the place 'Point Comfort'. The ships then entered and sailed up the river, stopping at Hampton, and here and there looking for a good site for a colony, finally selecting a low peninsula, half buried in the tide at high water. Here they landed on May 13, 1607, and gave the place the name of Jamestown, and the river then known as Powhatan the name of James River, in honor of king James I of Great Britain. The instructions of the king and the laws for the government of the colony were placed in a sealed casket with orders that it not be opened until they landed for settlement".
The 400 Years In Bondage Are Up
Linda Gray - 06/13/2007
Upon looking at the web site yesterday, I saw this "400 Years" article and thought it related to a very unusual dream I had on the evening of the 7th or 8th. We live in western Pennsylvania in the Allegheny Mountains. Our area is mainly agriculture-based, but we have a large timber industry with many saw mills run by large firms or by the Amish. We get numerous requests from the timber industry to harvest the trees on our farm.
In the dream, a timber representative came by our farm. We have many old-growth, large trees (oak, maple, hickory, etc.) which to my knowledge have never been harvested, at least in my 55 years of association with this property.
The representative stated to me that there are 4000 trees on our property that he would like to harvest. I thought, 'Okay so what type of price are you willing to pay to harvest all the trees?' We've had many offers to harvest our timber, but have turned them all down because many of these representative are crooks and will not give the farmer a fair market price.
Well, I was waiting for the expected outcome, when the representative said, "I'm going to give you $400 dollars for your 4000 trees". To myself, I was thinking, 'Who do you think you are, man? That's only 10¢ per tree'. I told him that I was going to talk this over with my father before getting back to him.
Note from David: 4000 could symbolize the people who eat of the Man-child's bread in the coming harvest. Here is the first mention in the NT:
(Mt. 15:38) And they that did eat were four thousand men, besides women and children.
(16:10) Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
The price paid is 400 years in bondage to Egypt / U.S. Here is the first mention in the OT:
(Gen.15:13) And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be sojourners in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years.
The price has been paid for our living in Egypt and now the harvest will come .
