The Lord Is Careful for Small Things

My wife and I were packing for an anniversary trip to Disneyland, when she told me that I should buy new shoes or insoles. I quickly (and also stubbornly) told her, "I'll be fine". I packed my shoes and we hit the road.

We were about 30 minutes into our road trip when my mom called us. She wanted to speak with us about some housesitting details. Near the end of the conversation, she told us about a dream that she had the night before. She said that she saw me struggling with very uncomfortable shoes -- removing my shoes and walking barefoot.

After laughing about the 'coincidence' with my wife, I looked a little deeper. I suddenly put the pieces together and felt extremely touched by the love and compassion of God. I can't describe how it feels to be cared for in such a seemingly small way. By the grace of God, I was able to stop by the store and pick up some insoles before any major walking.

Thank you, Lord!
